Applesauce

Music share: Really Love by D'Angelo & The Vanguard

I love making applesauce! I know exactly what's in it, no preservatives, and it freezes well!

I recently purchased a dehydrator, and I needed a first project. I had some of my applesauce in the freezer, so I decided on fruit leather. It turned out great, but I'll save that process/story for a other post. Back to the applesauce......

Ingredients:

Apples, chopped into chunks
Cinnamon
Sea salt
Water

Directions:

Place enough water to barely cover the bottom of your crockpot. You don't want the apples to stick.

Place your apples in the crockpot. Add a sprinkle of sea salt and a bit more than a sprinkle of cinnamon. If I had to guess, I'd say 1/4 teaspoonful of sea salt for a large crockpot and 1/2 to a full teaspoonful of cinnamon. It's really your preference.

Cook apples until fork tender and kind of mushy. Place contents of crockpot into a blender, and blend until it looks like applesauce! VOILA!
